Dear Fellow Congregants,
As you know our wonderful Administrative Director, Jamey Kohn, will be leaving us at the end of June. In the weeks since his departure was first announced many members of our congregation have expressed how much they will miss his presence and his extraordinary dedication.
There will be an opportunity for all of us to honor Jamey for what he has come to mean to the Merrick Jewish Centre and our entire community. On June 8th, our Shabbat Kiddush luncheon, will allow us to honor Jamey in a very special way. You will be hearing more about that occasion in the weeks ahead.
But, in typical Jamey Kohn fashion, he would like to do something for the Merrick Jewish Centre prior to his departure. As many of you know, Jamey is a long distance runner, and in two weeks he plans to run over one hundred twenty-five miles in a two day ultra marathon. It is Jamey's wish that if members of the congregation wish to sponsor his run that the money raised be directed towards the remodeling of our main office - the place that he has spent countless hours, over many years, as the welcoming face of our congregation interacting with each one of us in his own inimitable style. Please let us know if you would like to join our list of sponsors by making a contribution of your choosing for each mile Jamey runs. You can complete a from online by clicking here or contacting the office at your earliest convenience.
Naturally, we wish Jamey only great success in the future.
With my best wishes,
Howie Segal
