Rostered & Lay Leaders

11:00 a.m. to noon (PDT) / 8:00 to 9:00 a.m. (HST)

In April, Coaching for All Seasons welcomes
Author Beth Slevcove
on the topic of "Self-compassion in a Traumatized Time"

“Self-care is never a selfish act. It is simply good stewardship of the only gift I have, the gift I was put on earth to offer others.”
Parker Palmer

At our next Coaching for All Seasons session, author Beth Slevcove discusses the importance of self-compassion as an act of receiving God’s compassion in and through ourselves. Without this intentional practice of receptivity, and the self-care that stems from it, we will not be able to heal or hold the space for others to heal from the incredible amount of trauma, loss, and grief the world has experienced during this pandemic.

Pre-registration is required to receive the Zoom link to join
and may be done HERE.
Beth Slevcove is a hospice chaplain, spiritual director, writer, mother, spouse and surfer who loves good books, good waves, camping in her VW Westfalia, and much more silence than her life allows. She holds advanced degrees in theology and education. Her book Broken Hallelujahs: Learning to Grieve the Big and Small Losses of Life was released through InterVarsity Press. Beth is deeply rooted in her urban, Lutheran congregation and is an oblate at a Benedictine monastery. She lives with her husband, two kids and dozens of Tijuana Surf Monkeys from a surf company she runs. She can be reached at BethSlevSD@gmail.com.

Brought to you by your Pacifica Synod Coaching Team to support Synod leaders during challenging times. Each monthly offering brings a presentation on a current topic and an opportunity to discuss it in a small group facilitated by an ELCA coach.

Pacifica Synod has invested in training coaches to work with rostered and lay leaders one-on-one or in groups. A coach's role is to support leaders in naming challenging issues and identifying constructive responses to them.
