The 2019 Season is rapidly approaching!! We are less than a week away from the Central Region Opener on Lake McClure and less than 2 weeks away from the Mother Lode Opener on Lake Don Pedro.
The weather looks fantastic for next weekends event with highs in the low 60s and only a 40% chance of rain. With temps remaining fairly stable this week we are expecting a solid bite. Underspins with a trailer like the Berkley PowerBait Power Swimmer over chunk rock could play a key roll in determining the winner. Remember this time of year bites can be subtle on the fall so an ultra sensative rod like the Phenix Feather Series would definitely give you the advantage in detecting those soft bites. McClure also just recently planted with fat, juicy rainbow trout. So don't be afraid to swing for the fences throwing some bigger baits!!
