The concert and fireworks show on the last Saturday in June was a huge success. Some 6,000 came to see and hear Queen Nation perform; the evening was capped off with a fireworks show, the first for the city, that was founded just seven years ago. What a birthday party!

Peachtree Corners Continues to Prosper
Peachtree Corners has just celebrated its 7
th
anniversary. In its short history, our young city has become a dynamic place with expansive opportunities for businesses to flourish.
Our residents also enjoy the continuing improvements in our quality of life. With commitments from me and your councilmembers, I predict the upcoming year will be a year of accomplishments and advancements. Let’s review our recent successes and look ahead to the coming year.

This fall the Town Green will host competitive cornhole leagues on Wednesday evenings beginning Sept. 4.

Brewery to Open in Tech Park
|
|
Slated to open at 110 Technology Parkway in late July, Anderby Brewing pays homage to Georgia— specifically Peachtree Corners— in its beer menu.
The owners, Michell and Preston Smelt, are busy brewing specialty beers in preparation for the opening. Among the offerings are the “Jay Bird Bitter” and “141 Lager,” as well as “Helen,” a Vienna lager.
Visitors should expect some unique fruit and spiced pale ales, as well as European-inspired lagers, American IPAs and American pale ales.

Curiosity Lab, City's New AV Track Partners with The Ray, Advocate of Advanced Technologies
Together, Curiosity Lab and The Ray, a living transportation lab located in the southwest section of the state, are positioned to attract additional transportation research and development investments in Georgia.
"It's really such a natural fit," said Harriet Langford, founder and president of The Ray. "By working together, we can cover so much more ground."

City Receives Prestigious
Financial Reporting Award
The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting (CAFR) has been awarded to the city of Peachtree Corners Finance Department by the
Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA). It is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting.

Tech Park Business Accelerator Gearing Up for Cyber-FinTech Event
|
A 2-day event is set to take place at Atlanta Tech Park in Peachtree Corners Sept. 18-19, bringing cyber security and financial technology firms together for panel discussions, networking, and product discovery.

If you stopped by the Peachtree Corners booth at the recent Peachtree Corners Festival, you had a chance to enter the "Guess the Number of Jellybeans Contest."
Kristy Hilburn of Peachtree Corners was the winner. Out of the hundreds of entries, she came the closest in guessing the correct number of jellybeans in the jar. Kristy won a gift card to dine at one of the
Town Center
restaurants. Pictured with Kristy is Jeff Conkle, the Planning and Zoning Administrator for the city.

Carmax Opens Customer Center
On Wednesday, June 19, city, county and state leaders celebrated the opening of
CarMax
’s first free-standing Customer Experience Center at its new
Peachtree Corners
offices.
The center offers a new concept in purchasing a car. Customers have the option to purchase a vehicle on their terms, whether they want to buy a car completely from home, in-store, or both. The company employs 300 at the new Center.

Complete the U.S. Census Online

When 2020 Census Day arrives on April 1 of next year, U.S. residents for the first time will be able to complete their census questionnaire online.
Residents can also complete the survey by phone or by mail. Be sure to report each person living in your household. For more information visit
