2020 has been an extremely challenging year, and we have learned to appreciate the things and people in our lives that are truly special. Here is wishing you and your family a warm and peaceful Holiday Season. As always, please reach out to my office if we can be of any assistance to you. If you are blessed with more than you need this month, consider donating to one of the local organizations listed in this newsletter that are working very hard to make sure that families and children in our area have what they need and still get to experience a little Holiday Magic!
Belfast Rd Lighting Project Update and Meeting
In September I submitted a letter to the Secretary of the Maryland Department of Transportation urging reconsideration of a proposed lighting project on I-83 interchange at Belfast Rd. MDOT met with us and did agree to reconsider. Please join us on Wednesday, December 9 at 7 pm as they present their new and updated project plans in a virtual public hearing.

Upcoming Town Halls
It is very important to me to hear the concerns of my constituency before going into another session in Annapolis. My listening session will give you a chance to learn about my legislative priorities for 2021 and express your opinion and priorities.

Meet the Team
I am so fortunate to have a tremendous team working with me for District 42B. I'd like to introduce them to you!
Corey Johns
Chief of Staff
A life-long Baltimore County resident, Corey was a very active volunteer for Delegate Michele Guyton before becoming her Chief of Staff on July 1, 2020. Corey has great experience helping craft bills, advocating for them, and developing testimony. Before joining Delegate Guyton's staff Corey was a legislative relations director in and private sector and manager for a customer-service based business. He is also a member of the Baltimore County Board of Recreation and Parks, where he advocates for recreation and nature councils and their needs, and assists them with a variety of concerns and issues they may have.
Nandika Mahesh
Nandika is a high school senior at Dulaney High School. She cares deeply about social issues like civil rights, and gender and racial equality, arising both from her experience participating in clubs like the Debate Club and Model United Nations, as well as her work with various volunteer organizations.  Her desire to learn more about domestic politics and government led her to Delegate Michele Guyton, who shares many of the same passions. In addition to her interest in government, Nandika enjoys creating art, reading books, and writing. She can also be found hanging out with her little sister and chilling on the couch!
Vita Shats
Vita is a senior at Hereford High School and a life long Maryland resident. She has been an active advocate for Black Lives Matter in Northern Baltimore County both before interning for Delegate Guyton and now while with the Delegate's team. She has been working hard learning how the state legislator works and how to create and craft and advocate for bill. She is also a pole vaulter, competing in both indoor and outdoor track, and enjoys weight lifting. She is involved in National Honor Society, H-Zone Global (diversity) club, CASA club, and Spirit club.
