August 3, 2021 | 3:30 - 5pm

This training will be an overview of what a developmentally appropriate curriculum looks like for an infant and toddler classroom based on children’s interest.

Identifying Children With Special Needs (Virtual)

August 10, 2021 | 6:30 - 8pm

This presentation will cover the developmental early milestones based on chronological age and environmental factors which may have negative impacts on development. Simple ideas for supporting students in the general education classroom will be provided but this is a separate workshop. By the conclusion of the workshop, participants will know what to look for to determine if a referral is warranted to investigate special education. Participants will also be informed on who can refer, where and how to submit referrals.

Behavior Through The Social/Emotional Lens (Virtual)

Understanding behavior through the lens of social/emotional development for children ages 0-5. How a child’s stage of development provides a behavior roadmap for teachers as they provide supports to children.

August 24, 2021 | 6:30 - 8pm

Teachers how would you describe your approach to learning in your classroom? Are you teaching with specific outcomes or goals in mind for children? This training will explore purposeful, thoughtful, and planned intentional teaching. We will look at how teachers use their knowledge and ability to create learning experiences, initiate strategies to help children become successful learners. What are characteristics of an intentional teacher? Bring your ideas or definition of an intentional teacher to the training as we explore this topic together.

*Supporting Anxious Children in the Preschool Classroom (In Office)

August 31, 2021 | 6:30 - 8pm

What is anxiety? What does it look like in a young child? What strategies do you use to help children cope with anxiety? This workshop will provide you with additional strategies if you were able to answer the previous questions. Participants will engage in exploring, role playing, and activities to provide and enhance effective strategies.
