GovMatch event connects Montana businesses with government agencies


Montana APEX Accelerator is holding an in-person workshop for businesses and a GovMatch matchmaking event on August 9th, 2023, in Billings at the Billings Depot, located at 2310 Montana Ave, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There will be a morning session/workshop and an afternoon GovMatch matchmaking event in the afternoon. Lunch will be provided on-site from 12:00 to 1:00.

The training will cover:

  • Import costs and compliance: Understand total cost and compliance considerations before purchasing product from overseas. This includes import duties (tariffs) and the legal responsibilities of every company purchasing from overseas. 
  • Global freight costs: Learn how to determine freight costs and factor the costs into your product or material landing cost.
  • Overseas vs. local suppliers: Gain tools to determine if an overseas supplier or domestic product or material supplier makes sense for your business. 



The goal of the training is to arm businesses with a checklist to review to help avoid unexpected costs and legal compliance risks.
