Hypertension and Wellness Sunday

The Ethnic Health Institute is seeking volunteers for Hypertension and Wellness Sunday, a screening and health awareness event hosted at various faith-based communities in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. Volunteers are needed to lead health education activities and blood pressure screenings.

Morning and Afternoon shifts are available.

Next Orientation: March 21, 2020, 9:30 am - 1:00 pm at SMU
Student volunteer from all SMU programs are invited to become walk leaders for an ongoing collaboration with Alameda County Public Health Department and Roots Community Health Center.

Monthly park walks are held the second Saturday each month and represent one dimension of the multi-pronged approach to addressing diabetes disparities.

Students interested in volunteering, must attend a mandatory orientation. The next orientation is scheduled for March 21, 2020.

Academy of Friends- 40th Annual Ruby Red Gala

Academy of Friends is hosting the 40th annual Academy Awards Night Charity Gala to raise funds that benefit HIV/AIDS organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area. This year the gala will benefit the LGBT Asylum Project.

Volunteers are needed to set up, work the event, and clean up.

Martin's, as it is affectionately known, is a free restaurant, serving breakfast and lunch during the week and brunch on Sundays. Their mission is to serve in the spirit of compassion, understanding and love. Volunteers are needed to prepare and serve a healthy, fresh-off-the-stove meals. No kitchen or restaurant experience is necessary.
