L.E.A.R.N.: Sexual Harassment Prevention Training with Linda Bryan

New York State law requires that employers provide a sexual harassment prevention policy and training on an annual basis to all employees, and encourages training of new employees as soon as possible, noting that employers may be liable for the actions of employees immediately upon hire.

This one hour NYS Compliant Sexual Harassment Prevention Training will include:An explanation of sexual harassment consistent with New York State guidance. The training will conclude with a Q&A for all attendees, and will qualify as a "train the trainer" opportunity.
NY Forward Loan Fund Webinar

The New York Forward Loan Fund can offer small businesses, nonprofits and small landlords working capital loans of up to $100,000 with very reasonable interest rates (2-3%) via several community development financial institutions around the state. These loans are specifically designed to help businesses as they reopen for business and can be used for a variety of purposes.

Healthy Workforce Network
On-the-Job Training Grant

The Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce a new iteration of its On-the-Job Training Grant through a United States Department of Labor funding award to the Healthy Workforce Network - a local network of organizations collaborating to support people in recovery and their employers.

This funding award differs from past OJT grant programs in that it is intended to support people in recovery receiving educational and training supports, new job opportunities, and maintaining a recovery friendly workforce and employer base in Tompkins County and regionally. All employers interested in being considered for this program must take our survey and be willing to comply with additional program requirements.

From TMV to COVID-19: The History of Virus Research at BTI

Congratulations to member Arnot Realty for their successful $3.79 million bid on the NYS DOT Site in Ithaca. Arnot has been expanding their Ithaca area footprint with several projects on deck, and an additional recent townhouse development acquisition.
Take YMCA Aquatics Survey

With the consideration of requests from members and the expanded guidance from health protection agencies, the Y is interested in offering additional aquatic programming, especially for youth. There are two options of aquatics programs that can be performed with a higher level of security and safety for staff and participants. With this knowledge, the Y will require a firm commitment of folks who register in order to gauge the true need.
