Purim Project / Mishloach Manot

Please make your selections by Sunday, March 10th

Purim is a holiday that historically has asked us to step outside the normal and engage in a variety of nonsensical and humorous behaviors in order to lighten our spirits. This is especially needed during these difficult times for the Jewish community and our world.

We hope you will take a moment to read about Or Chadash's fabulous fundraiser -- Purim Project 2024. Your support over the last few years was extraordinary, and we hope to repeat that with your participation in this fundraiser -- our biggest of the year.

There is a Jewish tradition of celebrating Purim by giving delightful gift-containers filled with hamantashen and other special items to one another. Traditionally known as Mishloach Manot (the sending of Purim gifts to one another), Purim Project is an important fundraiser for OC programming. This past year our programs have been both live and on Zoom - with new modes of learning, worshiping, and coming together as a community.

We make it easy to do this. Select the option that is the most convenient for you:

  • THE EASY OPTION - Just click on the Personal Login link in the email you received on February 5th! It is a one step process - simple and convenient, and the one most Or Chadash folks use.
  • THE WEB OPTION - Go to the Purim Project website www.purimproject.com. Your username and password were provided in the email.
  • THE POSTAL OPTION - Use the goldenrod-colored form that you will receive via USPS on or about February 9th and mail it to Or Chadash - and don't forget to include your payment!.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact Betsy Zalaznick at 908-310-9247 or [email protected].

Thank you again for participating in Purim Project/Mishloach Manot 2024.

Your participation REALLY makes a difference!

Stay tuned for more information about our Purim Celebration, our Purim Gift Bag Pick Up/Delivery and our Purim non-perishable food drive including our Pasta Box groggers -- all happening on Sunday, March 17th.

Alicia Hubbard will become a Bat Mitzvah on February 10. She is the daughter of Stacey and Pierce Hubbard and younger sister to her brother, Braden. Alicia is a seventh grader at Readington Middle School. She loves to play field hockey, hang out with her friends, and go shopping.

Alicia’s torah portion, Mishpatim, explains the laws about keeping kosher. Alicia had a lot of fun doing her mitzvah project, which was baking cookies for the employees at Independence Manor. She loved coming up with different flavors for her cookies. Alicia is so excited to celebrate her Bat Mitzvah with her family and friends.

Help shape the future of Or Chadash!

OC Board of Trustees Has Two Openings

We need you! We need your thoughts, your creativity and your insights. We need you to be a part of our group of committed people, dedicated to improving Or Chadash.

Board members manage the general operations of the synagogue and ensure that the spiritual, educational, financial and other needs of the congregation are being met. It is here that you can truly help to shape the future of Or Chadash. (Our meetings are on Zoom and held every 4-5 weeks.)

If you are interested in supporting our community and making a difference at Or Chadash, please reach out to either Dan Freedman ([email protected]) or Louis Speizer ( [email protected]).
