Dear Members of Or Chadash,
On Sunday October 17th please join Or Chadash for a WALK AND NOSH. This is a family-friendly event open to all ages and abilities.
We will be meeting by the tow-path at Prallsville Mills in Stockton on Route 29 just north of the town at 9:30 AM (where parking is readily available) and walking to Bridge street, over the Delaware River and south along the canal tow-path, and then returning to the Stockton Farm Market by 10:45 AM.
The walk is flat and should be about two miles long. If it rains, we will be gathering at the Stockton Market at 10:45 AM for a nosh at the Borscht Belt. If NY-style deli is not your preference, the Stockton Market has many options for dining, including pizza, dumplings, Mexican and Peruvian, as well as gourmet chocolates, artisan breads and a plethora of delicious food. We suggest ordering your food in advance using the Toast app.
The Borscht Belt can get busy, and getting your order in advance is a great way to avoid the line.
Please RSVP to Betsy Zalaznick ([email protected]) to let us know to expect you. We look forward to this fun outdoor event to see one another and experience a beautiful autumn walk and enjoy some delicious food together.
Shalom,
- Rabbi Joseph Forman

On this Sabbath, join us exactly as you feel most comfortable - in-person if you are fully vaccinated or on Zoom. A few things to note about our service:
- For those on Zoom, feel free to light your own Shabbat candles, share in drinking the wine/juice from your own Kiddush cups and taste the sweetness of challah at your house.
- Please mail me ([email protected]) no later than 5:00 PM on Friday with the names you would like me to read during the Mi Shebeirach.
- If you need support or assistance using Zoom, please reach out to me or Betsy no later than 3:00 PM on Friday.
- The link for Friday Night Services can always be found on our OC website Homepage.
I hope each of you is well. We look forward to sharing Shabbat with our Or Chadash community no matter how you attend.

OR CHADASH TEMPLE YOUTH GROUP | |
Reaching for the stars-? Or at least the top of those tall walls.... Members of OCTY had a great time at Gravity Vault on Sunday. They fueled up on pizza in the parking lot beforehand, and then hit the walls for Intro to Rock Climbing. They cheered each other on and felt proud of their climbing accomplishments!
Or Chadash is so happy to see our teens getting together like this! 8th to 12th graders are all welcome, and we'd love to have everyone join in as much as possible!
Next up:
Save the date! Sunday, October 17
OCTY joins with all of the Or Chadash community
Meet in Stockton for a walk and visit to The Borscht Belt Delicatessen in the Stockton Farm Market. Timing TBD
Save the Dates! October 23 and October 24
Working on a trip to Schaefer Farms for Farm of Horrors and/or a fall-themed get-together. Details soon!
OCTY co-presidents: Jordyn Mosowitz and Noah Metelitsa
We always welcome all of our 8th to 12th graders to all OCTY events. Don't be shy! This is a very welcoming and friendly group!

As we welcome the new year, join the next step in the Reform Movement’s Racial Justice Campaign. Just as we heed the call of the shofar, we will gather on October 6 at 8 PM ET to continue heeding the call to pursue racial justice.
We will learn what our summer meetings with U.S. Senators accomplished, get the latest news on the progress of Freedom to Vote bills in Congress, and prepare for phone banking days from November 8-11 to continue pushing Congress to pass voting rights legislation.
We are honored to be joined by Ben Jealous, president of People for the American Way and Rabbi Jonah Pesner, director of the Religious Action Center. Whether you have already participated in a Senate meeting or wish to participate in future actions to strengthen democracy and protect the freedom to vote, we invite you to join this Zoom gathering.

Legislative Update
Urge the Senate the Support the Freedom to Vote Act
Last week, the Freedom to Vote Act was introduced in the Senate. This revised voting rights bill would establish national standards for federal elections that will create a transparent process that all Americans can trust. Tell your Senators to support the Freedom to Vote Act and make the promise of democracy real for us all.
