Starting the Year With Gratitude
Here we are, in the second month of a brand new decade, and we can't help but feel like we are off to a great start!

Last month C Street Village members and friends from age 2 to 'the upper decades of I'm-not-telling-you' gathered to begin the new year with amazing food, fun, and fellowship at our annual Gratitude Dinner.

As is our tradition, we find a creative way to share what we are grateful for, and this year, as a new twist, we played Gratitude Guess Who. We went around the room drawing everyone's responses, a bit like Jeopardy, and then trying to guess the 'who' that went with the 'what'. It was impressive how well we did, although, there were a few that stumped us.

This shows how much we are learning about those we will be sharing a community with, and how strong our neighborly relationships will already be when we move into C Street Village.

Meet Emily, Doug, and Nathan
Doug is a physicist and designs, builds and conducts research on high-field MRI devices and is learning to play the ukulele. Emily is the stewardship director at a local Episcopal church and likes to hike and knit. Their son, Nathan, is finishing 7th grade and enjoys Design Lab, and riding his scooter.

"We are very excited about the co-housing model as so much research shows that happiness is directly correlated with strong social ties and a robust community life. Having attended the recent planning workshop with Charles Durrett,  the project architect , we were sold on the idea of spontaneous ping pong games and music jams happening after a community meal. This, coupled with access to our own private home seems ideal. It’s an overused concept but nevertheless is profoundly true, it takes a village."
Have You Seen Our Community Plans?
Preliminary Elevation
Elevation of Private Homes / Architecture by McCamant & Durrett Architects.
In cohousing , one   receives the benefits of living a connected life, while maintaining a private sanctuary in your own home. The private homes in C Street Village will have open floor plans and are designed to be filled with natural light, built with sustainable materials, advanced sound-proofing techniques, passive cooling and heating, front porches, and more. There are six unit types with a combination of flats, townhouses, and ADU s (Accessory Dwelling Units) as well as JADU's (Junior Accessory Dwelling Units) options in some of the units   to increase inclusiveness, diversity and affordability within the community.
