NAMI NJ is offering a presentation of its popular NAMI In Our Own Voice program to raise mental health awareness and reduce stigma. Learn from trained NAMI volunteers about their lived experience of mental health recovery; What Happened, What Helps, and What’s Next.

This is a presentation that NAMI NJ gives over 200 times a year to a wide variety of audiences, including high school and college classes, professional trainings, family education courses, and congregations.

NAMI Family & Friends (presented by NAMI NJ and NAMI Warren) is a free seminar that informs people who have loved ones with a mental health condition how to best support them. It’s also an opportunity to meet other people in similar situations and gain community support. Led by trained people with lived experience of supporting a family member with a mental health condition, the seminar includes topics such as:

  • Understanding diagnoses, treatment and recovery
  • Effective communication strategies
  • The importance of self-care
  • Crisis preparation strategies
  • NAMI and community resources
