We are living in unprecedented times.
 
Developments are happening at a breathtaking pace.
 
AHEPA is here to help through this challenging time. The heart of AHEPA is that we are the largest and strongest global community of Hellenes and Philhellenes. During previous times of crisis, such as 9/11 and many natural disasters, we have seen this community rise to great heights to help each other and serve society. The circumstances we are living through are new to all of us. AHEPA events where we share fellowship and a fraternal bond in the spirit of brotherhood to plan our community service initiatives may be shuttered, but we are very much open for business. We have shifted as much as possible to a remote operation. Everyone must help to minimize the spread of COVID-19 because we know that our members, the members of the AHEPA family -- the Daughters of Penelope, the Sons of Pericles and the Maids of Athena -- our "Friends of AHEPA" and supporters, and staff are our most valuable resources. It is critical for us to do what we can to keep each other, and our loved ones, safe. 
 
Please know we are monitoring the coronavirus pandemic and have spent the last several weeks preparing an action plan to serve our members and mission.
We will ensure our mission is fulfilled
Denver Ahepans prepared and delivered 500 meals to the homeless during the coronavirus outbreak.
Despite the global pandemic, we will strive to meet all facets of our mission.

  • The National Educational Foundation scholarship application deadline is extended to April 30. See our detailed notice on adjusted scholarship application requirements.
  • While staying at home, please take time to fulfill your civic duty and complete the 2020 U.S. Census. It is important for the community to be counted! The Census can be completed online. Also, beware of Census fraud.
  • Again, while staying home, take a moment to contact your U.S. senators and urge them to call on Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to bring legislation that sanctions Turkey to the Senate floor for a vote. View our latest action alert.
  • We encourage you to seek philanthropic or charitable giving opportunities to help the most vulnerable in our society--but please do it safely and within the guidelines provided by government and public health officials.

We are also connecting with our regions and districts around the world to gain an understanding of the challenges communities and individuals are facing so we can serve them in the most effective manner possible.
We are sharing resources
We have created a COVID-19 resource page that will be updated as needed with information of importance, including any new guidance issued by the U.S. government. The resource page shares public service announcements, resources that track the spread of the virus, and announcements from various sectors of industry that you may find helpful.
 
We will share best practices of our chapters around the world are doing in face of this crisis.

We are also continuing our online learning. Staff and volunteers are helping tackle specific issues as we transition to virtual meetings, using technology to conduct conferences and meetings. Those will be coming online soon at www.ahepa.org.
