Small Business Assistance Available April 3
During this difficult time, AHEPA strives to be a resource for its members and the community, many of whom are small business owners.
 
The Paycheck Protection Program , established under the $2 trillion Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), provides $349 billion for small business loans to cover qualified payroll costs, rent, utilities, and interest on mortgage and other debt obligations over the eight-week period after the loan is made.
Per the U.S. Treasury Department, "small businesses and eligible nonprofit organizations, Veterans organizations, and Tribal businesses described in the Small Business Act, as well as individuals who are self-employed or are independent contractors, are eligible if they also meet program size standards."
 
The U.S. Small Business Administration will be accepting applications starting April 3.
 
 Independent contractors and self-employed individuals can begin applying April 10 .

  • We encourage you to seek philanthropic or charitable giving opportunities to help the most vulnerable in our society--but please do it safely and within the guidelines provided by government and public health officials.

We are also connecting with our regions and districts around the world to gain an understanding of the challenges communities and individuals are facing so we can serve them in the most effective manner possible.
We are sharing resources
We created a COVID-19 resource page that is being updated frequently with information, including any new guidance issued by the U.S. government. The resource page shares:
 
  • links to federal agencies that are providing relief,
  • public service announcements,
  • resources that track the spread of the virus, and
  • announcements from various sectors of industry that you may find helpful.
 
We will share best practices of our chapters around the world and what they are doing in the face of this crisis.
