EMERGENCY BEACH BERM PROJECT UPDATE

Lowdermilk Park to Doctors Pass Sand Placement

As of April 19, 2023, 37,500 tons of sand has been deployed on the City of Naples beach, south of Lowdermilk Park to the Naples Pier. This weekend, the contractor will set up the truck mats near Lowdermilk Park. On Monday, April 24, 2023, the contractor will be placing orange fencing on the beach at Lowdermilk Park, to the south and north, as well as north of Lowdermilk Park. Sand placement will take place all next week from Lowdermilk Park to Doctors Pass. The contractor has an approximate completion date of April 28, 2023 for this section of beach.


The contractor is on schedule to begin the Park Shore area beach by Tuesday, May 2, 2023.

Lowdermilk Park staging and closures for Berm Project

In order to accommodate and provide safe passage for beachgoers during the sand placement next week, some of the walkways leading to the beach will be CLOSED. The concession area access, the walkover to the south of the concession area, and the two walkovers to the north of the concession area will remain open. The access closures will take place on Monday April 24, 2023, and last through the week. The north and south Gazebos will remain accessible during this time. The sand placement will not affect parking at the park. The contractor will also have staff on the beach and will be guiding beachgoers during the entire process.
