A message from our Willamette Valley Governmental Affairs Director
The May 17 Primary Election has been – and continues to be – a wild ride. MVAR supported candidates worked exceptionally hard on their campaigns along with their volunteers.
Here are the results as of May 31 at 6 am:
Marion County District Attorney:
Paige Clarkson (incumbent) has won.
Salem Mayor:
Chane Griggs has conceded to Chris Hoy.
Salem City Council:
Ward 4 – Deanna Gwyn is TWO votes ahead with 49.9% of the votes.
Ward 6 – Julie Hoy has won.
Ward 8 – Chris Cummings is trailing behind by 184 (48.43%) votes.
Thank You to all members who volunteered on behalf of MVAR supported candidates – whether it be through giving a PAC donation, attending a fundraiser, knocking on doors to talk with voters or waving signs – your participation is greatly appreciated.
