STANDING TOGETHER UPDATE #16

ISRAEL AT WAR

If you have been following our newsletters, you know that with your help, Standing Together, a small organization with a big heart, is making large strides in helping our wonderful IDF soldiers during this very difficult war.

Pictured below, yesterday's all nighter with the IDF. It's never too late to treat our wonderful IDF heroes to warm donuts and immense appreciation. Am Yisrael Chai!

Our lead volunteer is David's son. He follows in his father's footsteps and is very humble as well as grateful to be part of Standing Together. Watch this video as he describes much of the gear built into the Standing Together Hospitality Truck.

During this time, we are grateful for your generous donations and for all those who asked to join us in bringing snacks and more to the IDF soldiers. We would also like to ask you to reply to this email, if you can:

  • Donate a used phone for an IDF soldier whose phone broke and cannot leave the field to get it fixed (Israel only).
  • If you know how to edit videos and have time to volunteer, we could use your help.
  • If you have connections with large Israeli food suppliers / stores and can help Standing Together get a discount.

Always Standing Together

After a Landau family sheva brachot, the parents of the kalla brought cholent to the chayalim on the road. The chayalim were very happy to receive this tasty and hot snack. David also met Mrs. Frimet Yagod, a recent immigrant from Toronto, a participant in a knitting group, where women have been knitting hats for the chayalim. They are continuing the legacy of Sylvia Spiegel for whom the group is named. The women have knitted 110 hats and added a loving note in Hebrew in each one. The chayalim loved the hats! And Standing Together will be giving some of them out to chayalim down south who have been fighting in Gaza. If you would like to participate in the knitting group, please write to David.

An IDF soldier at a checkpoint is glad to receive a warm hat.

What could be better than hot chulent to warm up the chayalim on a chilly night?

IDF soldiers are grateful for the warmth and kindness of this lovely group.

Keeping Our Soldiers Warm, One Jacket at a Time

Standing Together with your help has already given out 500 softshell jackets. We are now working on raising money for the next 500. We plan to give out the jackets to IDF soldiers who are fighting in Gaza as well as to those protecting Israel on the northern border.

Please note that we have already ordered the next 100 winter jackets, however, we do not yet have the full amount needed to make this purchase.

If you already donated, please share this campaign with your friends and family as Standing Together is still working hard to reach our goal of giving out 1,000 winter jackets to the IDF and First Responders.
