Dear Ramah Nyack Family:
It’s the first day of camp and our migrash is a tapestry of color.
The dancing begins and our “word of the summer” is joyfully announced.
We are actively planning for
opening day and a wonderful 2020 camp season.
Yet, in the midst of this planning, we must acknowledge our new reality. We know that many of your children will be home for the indefinite future and that some families are facing illness and others financial stress. We care about you and want to help in any way possible.
Here is one thing that you need not worry about: If camp is cancelled or if your child has any medical reasons for being unable to attend camp, we will refund all tuition payments. You have our assurance.
Our professional staff, steering committee, and the National Ramah Commission are collaborating to plan responsibly for the coming season. Several working teams of medical professionals, program professionals, and business professionals are meeting regularly.
Even with the current uncertainty, we are grateful that we have a senior staff with 68 years of cumulative professional experience, a strong working relationship with state and county agencies and a committee of lay leaders who guide our decision making. As important, we thank you, our Ramah mishpacha, who care deeply about our 56-year old summer home.
Our year-round team is working remotely to limit social exposure and create the safest possible environment for our staff and their families. To reach us by phone, please call our summer office, 845-358-6240, and leave a voicemail. General questions can also be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org. All mail should be sent to our summer office: Ramah Day Camp in Nyack, P.O. Box 807, Nyack, NY 10960.
Thank you for your support. We will continue to update you as we clarify our plans.
Matthew Binstock, Ramah Nyack Steering Committee Chair
