Dear Members,

The COVID-19 situation has created uncertainty and concern for everyone. All of us at the College are committed to supporting you and getting through this situation together as a profession. We’d like to address some concerns that may be on your mind.

Update on annual fees
We know members are anxious to keep their registration with the College in good standing so they’re ready to return to work when it’s safe to do so. For those who are able to complete their annual renewal as usual, we encourage you go ahead as the College’s online renewal processes are fully operational. Our team is working remotely and is able to respond to renewal questions. If you have any for us, kindly email [email protected] .

We know that some members are facing financial hardship and may be unable to pay their annual fees. With their renewal notice and reminders, members will receive information about obtaining a deferral of their renewal. For members who have lost income as a result of COVID-19, this will allow for additional time to renew while maintaining their registration status in good standing without penalties.

CPL update
While we believe that ongoing learning is important and also valued by the profession, we know that planning, documenting and reporting may not be possible for many RECEs at the moment. All members will have the option for a one-year deferral of their CPL requirements due to the COVID-19 situation. Information about obtaining a deferral will be included with renewal notices and the option to defer CPL requirements will appear on the renewal form in April. No additional form or documentation will be required. As mentioned in the COVID-19 FAQs, the CPL audit and compliance processes have been postponed. However, any CPL-related documents submitted by members will be processed. For questions, please contact [email protected].

For those who are interested in continuing with their CPL, we will continue to share resources for online learning and other professional learning options that support physical distancing. For those who are engaging in new learning opportunities and reconnecting with online communities of practice, we look forward to hearing about your activities.

Additional support for members
The College continues to develop resources, share information and communicate your concerns to government and other stakeholders. All of our COVID-19-related information has been centralized on our website here. As we move forward, we will continue to provide updates on our website, via e-blast communication and on social media (Twitter and LinkedIn).

Please reach out to us at any time at [email protected]

Sincerely,
