Spring is a Time for H.O.P.E.

Carlotta Walls Lanier, a recipient of the prestigious Congressional Gold Medal, was one of the courageous Little Rock Nine who integrated Little Rock Central High School in 1957. This pivotal act of bravery helped shape the American Civil Rights Movement, challenging racial segregation and discrimination.

The Center is honored to have Carlotta join us as our keynote speaker on April 5 at the Fritz Knoebel Ballroom at the University of Denver, as we raise funds for over 300 vulnerable children in Kenya and India.

We will also be presenting the Center's 2025 Humanitarian of the Year award to Laraine Guyette.

PEPFAR/USAID is in Danger

Since its inception in 2003, the U.S. President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) has saved an estimated 25 million lives, preventing millions of HIV infections, and strengthening global health and economic security. The current administration's plans to halt HIV drug distribution in poor countries will have disastrous consequences for millions across the globe. The Bias Inside Us

The Boulder Jewish Community Center will be hosting the Smithsonian traveling exhibition, The Bias Inside Us. Join the Center for Health and Hope on Friday, February 28 for a tour of the exhibition, followed by lunch and a thought-provoking conversation regarding implicit bias, led by The Center on Colfax's Director of Education, Liz Elsen.

Post Secondary Scholarships in Kenya

In January, funds were wired for 26 students in Kenya to continue their studies, thanks to the generosity of Center supporters. Attached are photos of several students who just graduated in December.

The Red Concert

Every year, the Center collaborates with TIHAN (Tucson Interfaith HIV and AIDS Network) to raise funds for both organizations. This year, Scott Blades, the Founder and Executive Director of TIHAN, will receive the 2025 Leadership Award.

Update from India

In March, the founder of the Center, Don Messer, will be traveling with two volunteers to visit our partners throughout India, including the New Hope and Better Health Project in Chennai.

The social services provided by the Project support those living with HIV and AIDS with education, nutrition, and much more. This includes the Imagine Tutoring program, which helps to lift young women out of poverty.

Kenya Trip in July!

The Center for Health and Hope is excited to announce an immersive trip to Kenya to connect with the Center's programs, the incredible people and culture of Kenya, and of course, safari! Deadline to commit to the trip is February 28!
