What's Happening

Work crews have completed the first segment of the emergency force main replacement along Hawthorne Avenue. The first segment of the pipe was assembled and pulled into place on Thursday, May 21. An excavation pit and equipment will be present along Hawthorne Avenue from 79 Street to Crespi Blvd to support work on second segment operations.

Work on the second segment will begin on Tuesday, May 26, 2026. The second segment involves directional drilling underneath Hawthorne Avenue from Crespi Blvd to the pump station at 81 Street. Equipment and pipe staging is occurring along Hawthorne Avenue between 80–85 streets. Intersections and driveways in the area will be temporarily blocked May 28 until June 5, 2026 for pipe assembly and pull back; those properties will be notified before access is blocked. Waste collection services will be coordinated with work crews to maintain service. Please follow traffic detours.

Parking Restrictions

• 79–80 streets: restrictions lifted on both sides.
• 79 Street to Crespi Park’s south end: parking restricted on both sides from May 22–June 6, 2026.
• 80–82 streets: restrictions from May 22–June 6, 2026.
• 82–85 streets: restrictions begin May 26–June 6, 2026.

Parking Alternatives

To assist affected residents, the City of Miami Beach is providing parking codes for Zone 26 participants to use municipal surface lots 108, 109, 110 and 111 for 24-hour parking. These codes are active now through Friday, June 5 or until further notice. Enter the code in the ParkMobile App.
