It's important that you get a PCR test as soon as you can to identify any new variants of concern and keep the infection rate under control, even if you've already had a vaccine.

If you are a parent and your child is returning to school this week our ask of you is to HELP REDUCE DISRUPTION TO EDUCATION. Keep schools COVID-safe as pupils return to the classroom by getting a PCR test.

Please get a PCR test as soon as possible on Friday 11 June at the following locations:

Richmond closures - until Thursday 24 June

There will be a series of overnight directional closures of the A316 Lower Richmond Road and Chertsey Road while we carry out essential maintenance. Work will take place on weeknights between 22:00 and 05:00, restrictions will be removed by 05:00 on Saturday mornings with the final overnight closure being removed at 05:00 on Friday 25 June. Please allow more time for your journey and follow the signed diversions. For the latest information on how roads are operating in your area check status updates.

Sustainable aviation fuel success!

Heathrow Airport has become the first major UK airport to integrate sustainable aviation fuel into its fuel distribution. The fuel is made from renewable waste and will be used for short haul flights. This is a first for the UK and we hope other airports will follow Heathrow’s example and help lead the way to net zero carbon emissions by 2050.

It is also good news for aviation communities because it shows progress on carbon reduction – and in the longer-term will create new jobs in the sustainable aviation fuel industry as commercial production is expanded. See the story here.
