Dear MYSO Family ,
As you may know, Governor Evers’ Safer-at-Home order has been extended to May 26. This leaves us little choice but to cancel the remaining performances for the 2019-20 season. In honor of Ms. Margery Deutsch’s retirement at the end of this season, her 34th as our Senior Symphony Music Director, we intend to reschedule the Fanfare and Finale concert at a future date. Concerto performances and Downey composer premieres that were to happen during these spring performances will be rescheduled to next season.
Consistent with our core values and our commitment to our musicians and families, we will continue to provide online learning through May 15.
Lessons Shared Together This Season
We understand that this isn’t the programming you or we intended to provide this spring. We share your disappointment that the hard work and dedication of our musicians won’t be showcased in our spring performances.
While this is not the end to the season that we anticipated, we have shared many wonderful experiences together this season. This included our tour of Ireland, Playathon in October, dozens of performances in November, January, and February at Uihlein Hall, Carroll University, Wisconsin Lutheran College, and the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center, along with chamber music and world premieres by our incredibly talented John Downey Creation Project composers.
