No local lockdowns in Hounslow

Work Hounslow.jpg

Following the national coverage of recently revised guidance we have met with national officials and confirmed there are no restrictions on travel in or out of Hounslow: There are no local lockdowns.

In areas where the new COVID variant is spreading we are all working together to boost testing and vaccination and to support self-isolation. There are sensible public health precautions people can take as individuals in line with the sorts of advice we have all been following throughout the pandemic.

We will keep sharing that and working with national officials to make sure people understand what they need to think about as they go about their daily lives.

- Kelly O'Neill, Director of Public Health

Has your organisation considered cloud based CCTV as a solution? Unsure about which way to turn in the clouds? We are teaming up with our Cloud CCTV partner Eagle Eye Networks to bring you our latest webinar Seeing through the cloud – your journey to a cloud first strategy at 2.30pm on Thursday 10th June 2021.

As you have had to adapt to the global proof of concept in remote working enforced by the pandemic, many types of business have accelerated their ‘Cloud First’ strategy and planning. The UK Government’s Cloud First policy encourages organisations to evaluate cloud solutions as a first choice and review the benefits of migrating to cloud. This is happening across sectors right now.

Ajar Technology offers a wide range of cloud based solutions including; CCTV, Access Control, Digital Signage, Task Management and Automated Public Address systems. In partnership Ajar Technology and Eagle Eye Networks have been supporting businesses as they make the move to cloud based CCTV. For Public Sector organisations our G-Cloud 12 Framework offering enables a direct route for procurement for our cloud based solutions.

Here at ArtsEd we love being a part of the Chiswick community and have greatly missed welcoming our many local supporters in to see our fabulous students on stage. Seeing them in action brings home the extraordinary amount of hard work and determination that they put into their three years of tough performance training. Less obvious are the financial struggles that many of them must overcome in order to see that training through to graduation.

We want to lighten the load for our students this year so, for the first time ever, we are running an appeal for the ArtsEd Bursary Fund. The ArtsEd Bursary Fund provides support to young people who have the talent and commitment needed to study at ArtsEd but who don’t have the financial backing to make it happen.

As you can imagine, the number of young people needing financial help increased sharply this year. We did our best to rise to the demand and were able to award bursaries to 41 students, ranging from £1,500 to full scholarships. Many of them will be entering the 2nd or 3rd year of their studies in September and their financial struggles will not have disappeared, particularly with many losing part-time work during lockdown.

And this is where you come in! If you feel able to do so, we hope you might consider supporting our wonderful students through our Bursary Appeal, before coming to join us in the autumn for a fantastic evening (or two!) of live theatre. We very much look forward to welcoming you back again!

Thank you from everyone here!

Best wishes,

Sue & Victoria
