Dear District 65 Community,
Thank you for your continued grace and flexibility. The School Board’s special meeting has been rescheduled for next Tuesday, October 14, at 9 a.m. at the Joseph E. Hill Education Center (1500 McDaniel Ave., Evanston).
This meeting is being held at an unconventional time to ensure maximum participation by board members. Under Open Meetings Act regulations, deliberation among board members as a group can only occur during an official board meeting. This choice was not made to be inconsiderate of the community, and we appreciate your understanding.
The board room shares a facility with the Early Childhood Center, which will be in session during the meeting. To ensure everyone's safety, if the board room hits its capacity, additional attendees will be encouraged to view the livestream on the D65 YouTube page.
This remains a time for the Board to continue its public discussion of the school closure scenarios, which were brought forward last week by the administration as part of Phase III of our Structural Deficit Reduction Plan. No votes will be taken.
