The School Bells are ringing! It’s time to Return to Sunday

School. The plan is to offer Sunday School starting on September 15 (following week after Rally Sunday) during the 9:30 service for the following 3 separate grade levels:

  1. K-4 – Will meet in the Sunday School Classrooms.
  2. Route 56 (grades 5-6) – Will meet in the Youth Room, across from the Fitzgerald Room
  3. Pier 270 (grades 7-12) – Will meet in the Pier 270 Rec Room – below the Fellowship Room.
  4. Nursery will be open – we need to have a volunteer each week.

We are excited to create a morning of growing in God’s love. We need your enthusiasm and willingness to share what God’s love has provided you. We are inviting each of you to volunteer to serve as a teacher and/or assistant with each age group. This year Amy is going to work with the Route 56 youth; so we are in need of several dedicated congregants to lead the Sunday School lesson.

The Children have noted that they enjoy getting to know our JWUMC members on a personal level; so we would like to have a cadre of volunteers that could move throughout the age groups – for example; some may volunteer ever week; and others on a particular Sunday.

Please contact Amy at amyclatanoffbrown@gmail.com or 508.274.1904 or Bill Dorfner @ youth.jwumc@gmail.com or (843) 475-5707 to discuss how you can serve the JWUMC children and youth and families.

LAST Beach Service this Sunday.  It’s a time to connect with God and enjoy the beauty of God’s handiwork as we worship together. “Don’t leave it for next year what you can do this year.” 7:30am Surf Drive Beach.

Fundraiser for Allision D. Starting this Sunday, our church will begin to receive donations for the mission work Allison is doing. During our worship, we will hear stories/testimonies of why some people in our church support Allison’s work. On September 8, on Rally Sunday, Allison will share with us her own story of why this work has become such an important instrument of God’s love and mercy in the part of the world where she serves.

ESL at John Wesley!

We are entering our 7th year teaching English as a second language to very appreciative students in the greater Falmouth area. This program has been very rewarding for all of the tutors and we think that we have made a positive impact on a very deserving and hard working community. This year, we have an experienced ESL professional who will give workshops to help all tutors, new and old. The workshops will be on Wednesday September 4 and Wednesday September 11 at 6:00 PM in the Fitzgerald Room.

If you are interested in becoming a tutor, please feel free to attend the workshops. If your schedule does not permit this, please contact me directly and I'll be glad to answer any questions.

I hope to see some new faces among the tutors this year.

Join us and understand God’s purpose for your life, how we can open ourselves to hearing God’s voice, how and when to take the first or next step in following God’s call, and explore God’s choices alongside others as we learn how to channel our passion for life and ministry.

Changing Our World for the month of August is for "Fishing for a Mission 22", a nonprofit organization that harnesses the therapeutic potential of fishing to aid veterans still grappling with the hidden scars of war.

The Service Center is in need of Apple Juice, Cheerios and Ensure or Boost. There is a shortage of these items and are most needed at this time.

If you would like an updated copy of the church’s directory, there are copies in the office. If you would like to update your information in the directory please contact the church office at 508-548-3050 or email us at jwumcfalmouth@comcast.net
