Update - Black Forest Road now fully reopened

Black Forest Road is now fully reopened between Woodmen Road to Cowpoke Road.

The rain over the past two days caused significant flooding in the Black Forest Road widening project zone. The project team worked hard to mitigate the flooding and has now fully reopened the road and accesses.

Safety Reminders: 

• Reduce speeds in work zone. 
• Watch for workers, equipment, signs, and barricades.

The project is widening the roadway to two lanes in each direction between Woodmen Road and Research Parkway. Funded through the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority (PPRTA) “A” List of projects, work is scheduled to be complete in late 2024.
