Thank you for doing your part for Grimsby – not only by adjusting your operations to comply with physical distancing practices, but for coming together as a community to support other local businesses and non-profit organizations.

Over the past several weeks, our Members have shown incredible strength and perseverance in response to these extreme and daunting hardships. Across all sectors of our local economy, you have shown creativity, agility, and resilience – and we have noticed.

Your Partner Now and During Recovery

Your Chamber recognizes the difficulties many of you are facing, and is committed to being your partner throughout it all. Please continue to share your feedback with us. We share your suggestions and comments with the Ontario and Canadian Chambers of Commerce as part of our efforts to advocate for you locally, provincially, and federally.

As we start to see signs of the growth curve flattening, we are getting excited to move forward. We are working on our recovery programming, and would love your input! Please reach out if you have any ideas for recovery or support-local initiatives that will help your business or our community.

From the Rotary Club of Grimsby

On behalf of the Rotary Club of Grimsby, we wish to extend an invitation to the Grimsby Chamber of Commerce membership to participate in the upcoming Rotary Speakers Series event, this Thursday, April 30th . This session has a special focus on education and our presenter will be a fellow Rotarian.

The presentation starts promptly at 12 noon , with log-in available from 11:45 onward.

Education in the time of Social Distancing - Now and into the future

Mat Miller is the Principal of Grimsby Secondary School and will be the Principal at West Niagara Secondary School when it opens in September 2022. Mat taught Science and was VP in the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board and was Principal at BDSS in Niagara before coming to Grimsby. He is a Grimsby resident, and his daughter attends Central Elementary School.

Recently we learned that Ontario's school will remain closed until at least May 31st. We have all heard about the successes and struggles of parents, educators and students with on-line learning and missing the connection of in-class education. Though Mat will focus primarily on the high school experience, he will share information about the elementary school experience as well.

Have you submitted your listing for the new Open In Niagara website yet?

The Niagara Region created the site as a space for businesses to promote themselves for free to potential customers through Niagara.

The website will be promoted though the Niagara Region channels, and by us of course!

Any businesses that wants to participate can simply go to http://www.OpenInNiagara.ca and click on the “Add a Business” button in the upper right hand corner.
