Pastor's Letter
Sermon Prep.:  2 Samuel 9:1-13
Church Family,

I think many Christians are afraid of the Old Testament. Both the culture and the theology found there is often confusing compared to the more comfortable New Testament.
In the OT there are stories that deal with: over the top miracles; blood and sacrifices; laws and rules; death and destruction; and stories that make God look angry instead of full of love. And don’t get me started on the Rated “R” stories that make this pastor go red in the face!
And all of that makes us squirm in our Bible study seats.
So, I want us to spend time this answering some pretty difficult questions that I know all of us are asking. I am starting a sermon series called “Hard OT Questions.”
I look forward to looking in the Old Testament with you Sunday!

Peace,
Pastor Brent

To our friends at Harrisonville Church of the Nazarene,

Thank you for your recent support of our family through LINKS!  We are so grateful for your prayers and support.

Since we are your new LINKS missionaries, here is a little information about us…
We’ve been serving on the Asia-Pacific region for the last 16 years.  Before we moved to Okinawa, Japan, we lived in Guam and Manila, Philippines.  Brian serves as the pastor of Keystone Nazarene Church, an international congregation in Okinawa, and Julie is the Literacy teacher at Okinawa Christian School International.  Justin just started 6 th  grade and Noah is in 3 rd  grade this year. We love living on the beautiful island of Okinawa and are so thankful for the church and school communities God has given us here.

We’re excited to get to know you!  Please let us know if you have questions about us, Japan, or anything else.  Let us know how we can be praying for you and ways you would like to connect.

God bless,
Brian, Julie, Justin, and Noah Woolery

PRAYER FOR TODAY:
As you heard the prayer of Isaac and Rebekah, O God,
and guided them in the way of your love,
so listen now to those who call upon you.

Prayers of the People, concluding with:

Move us to praise your gracious will,
for in Christ Jesus you have saved us from the deeds of death
and opened for us the hidden ways of your love.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
