The Snell certification changeover from SA2020 to SA2025 takes effect in 2025, with new helmets expected to release in October 2025, though most won’t be available until early-to-mid 2026 from brands like HJC, Arai, Pyrotect, and Bell.

Since most U.S. motorsport organizations allow the current and one prior certification, SA2020 helmets will remain valid until the release of SA2030 helmets in 2031, while SA2015 and older helmets will no longer be accepted.

This means a new SA2020 helmet purchased now can be used for about five more years, and we are currently offering 15–30% discounts on select SA2020 models while supplies last—making now an excellent time to upgrade!
