Are Your Beneficiaries Up to Date?

If you’ve recently gotten married, welcomed a baby, adopted a child, undergone a divorce, or suffered a death in the family, it’s probably time to update your beneficiary. No one wants their loved ones dealing with delays and extra hassle at an already difficult time, especially when it’s so easy to take action now to ensure your benefits are issued according to your wishes.


Life Insurance

Update your basic and/or supplemental life insurance beneficiaries through myOCPortal. From employee self-service, click on the Benefits Details tile, then the Benefits Summary tile. Click on the life insurance plan (Life and AD&D or supplemental) – you can list both primary and secondary beneficiaries. Select the beneficiary to view or modify their personal information. To change your beneficiary allocations, select the Update Beneficiary Designation button. 

 

FRS

Update your FRS beneficiaries through the FRS portal. Beneficiary designations apply to the 3% contribution. Click here for steps on how to update this in the FRS portal.

 

Deferred Compensation

Update your Deferred Compensation beneficiaries through the Vanguard portal. Click here for steps on how to update this in the Vanguard portal.
