From Bill Keller, Vice President for Finance and Administration:

In light of the recent hurricanes that have severely damaged Texas and Florida, and with the approach of winter, we wanted to remind you about CUNY Alert, CUNY's emergency notification system. Through CUNY Alert, you will be notified by text, voice alerts, or email of emergencies or weather-related closings on our campus via mobile or home phone and email.

You can use your CUNYfirst account to access and manage your preferences for receiving emergency notifications from CUNY Alert. We urge you to log in to CUNY Alert today (www.cuny.edu/news/alert.html; use your CUNYfirst login information) and make sure that the system has your most up-to-date contact information. You can choose to receive voice and text messages on your office or personal phone, as well as receive email alerts via your office or home email address. You may include up to five phone numbers and five email addresses. CUNY Alert will be used only for emergency notifications.

If you are a new faculty or staff member, and you have a CUNYfirst account, you will be auto-enrolled in the CUNY Alert system. Your account will be pre-filled with your college affiliation(s) and CUNY business email address, with the option of adding additional contact information. Access CUNY Alert by signing in to CUNYfirst, clicking on Self Service in the CUNYfirst menu, selecting Personal Information, and then selecting the CUNY Alert Preferences link. Please be aware you have the option to receive alerts via text message. Employees who do not have CUNYfirst accounts--for example, Research Foundation employees--may sign up as a Guest User.

For additional information and to log in, please go to www.cuny.edu/news/alert.html

In addition to CUNY Alert, there are other methods the college will use to communicate with you about a campus emergency or weather-related event. Details are below:
