Dear American National Customer,

I want you to know how seriously American National is taking the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. My previous email outlined some of the actions we have taken to ensure our employees and customers are protected while helping to prevent its spread in our community. The situation is rapidly evolving and we are staying informed from experts at the local, state, and national level to be sure we are taking responsible and proactive measures in our fight to stop it. We want to be ahead of this crisis as much as we can so we are taking a big next step in addressing this health risk, while making sure we remain available to serve your banking needs.

Branch Access

Effective Friday, March 20 we will close our lobbies and transition to drive-thru banking only for the foreseeable future. This will be done across our footprint and our downtown Roanoke location without a drive-thru will allow access by appointment.

If you have an important banking matter, your banker will be available by telephone, via video, or by a scheduled appointment at a branch if necessary. Just contact your local branch or relationship banker to set that up. We will work with you however we can to safely take care of your banking needs.

Social Distancing

As a way to minimize person to person contact, we encourage you to use many of the other banking tools we have available and to use our branch network only when necessary. The following channels offer safe and secure alternatives to conduct your banking:

  • ATMs (most of which can handle deposits, including currency deposits)
  • 24/7 account access through mobile and online banking (offering bill payment, transfers, and mobile check deposits among other services)
  • Online account opening for new personal accounts
  • Support through Customer Care and 24/7 Telephone Banking (1.800.240.8190)
  • 24/7 Night Depository Box
  • Drive-thru banking

We are here

We do believe these measures are helpful to prevent the spread of COVID-19 so we can get back to business as usual. The unknown impact of things leaves a lot of families and businesses with uncertainty and we understand that. We want to remind you that we are here to help. If you are facing financial hardship, your banker can work with you so you are equipped to navigate these challenging times. Please be sure to get in touch with us on any concerns so we can work together on a solution. We are in this together and as a community bank, we are only as strong as the communities we serve.

I also want you to remember those that are severely impacted by this crisis and encourage you to help those that are less fortunate if you are able to do so. As a community that looks out for each other, we can get through this together.

Thanks for your trust in us and for your flexibility in our efforts to protect our community.
