Dear CSL Parents and Friends:

As we write this letter to you, Camp Seneca Lake has just finished an incredible camp season! We are thankful for our hard-working team for their tremendous work.  

At this time, we have bittersweet news to share with you. Our Camp Director, Dan Baer, and Assistant Director, Molly Okun, have decided to move on to pursue other opportunities. Dan and Molly have been tremendous resources to the CSL team, and we are very thankful for their work over the past two years helping CSL emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic. Dan ushered in an internship program where current CSL staff gain experience and leadership training while helping to improve Camp Seneca Lake for future generations. Additionally, Dan has professionalized the year-round leadership team, adding key positions to ensure a better experience for campers, staff and families. We are very grateful for Dan and Molly's hard work and wish them both well on their next endeavors.

Dan and Molly will continue in their roles through the end of September, and have committed to assisting the transition into the fall. We have retained a national search firm with deep experience in the Jewish camping world to help us find the next CSL Camp Director. The JCC Leadership Team and CSL Advisory Council are pleased to include Dan in this process as well.

Assistant Director, Abby Blackmon, will lead the team until a new Director is hired. Abby is a year-round member of the CSL team and was a major contributor to the success of the 2023 summer. Abby has proven to be a respected leader in the short time that she has been with CSL. In addition to championing the Camper and Staff Experience this summer, she conducted the bulk of the staff interviews and brings years of JCC camp experience to the table. Abby will continue to be supported by Property Manager, Josh Van Horn, and Administrative Assistant, Abby Quinlisk.
