Update from Capital Stage: August 4, 2020
Greetings!

We are saddened to announce that we will be postponing our next season entitled Hope Defiant, which was originally scheduled to begin August 26, 2020.

The pandemic has touched every corner of our lives, and effectively shut down the theatre, sports stadiums and music halls; wherever a crowd might gather.

Now more than ever I miss the thrum of voices in line for tickets, laughter in the Patron Lounge and the sound of the bell signaling the play is about to begin. I realized today that I haven’t been in a room full of people in more than 4 months.

But the show must go on on, and it will go on. The question remains, when.
Capital Stage is determined to be there when the time arrives.

We’ll continue to monitor public health advisories, and as soon as it becomes possible to safely do so, we will open the theatre.
You Announced Your Next Season – Now What?
Our primary concern is to ensure the health and well-being of our patrons, artists and staff. The announcement of our next season Hope Defiant is a promise to our patrons that we will serve the community again after it is deemed safe to reopen. Dates and titles might be subject to change because of the pandemic. Please be assured that if you have subscribed to our next season, we will give you 6 full shows of bold, thought provoking theatre, when we can safely resume. Please keep an eye on your email for updates from us as we navigate this unpredictable time.
What Measures Will You Take To Keep Audiences Safe?
Capital Stage will comply with all local requirements and advisories, and with CDC recommendations that pertain to areas of public assembly. Our top priority is everyone's safety, and to ensure our patrons, staff and artists feel safe and comfortable when we perform.
What If I Subscribe Now But Decide Later I Don’t Feel Safe?
It is our goal not to cancel, but to deliver the entire 6 show season to our patrons once it is safe to do so. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility if postponements need to be made to ensure your safety. If we find we need to postpone a production due to safety issues, we will provide options at that time on how to manage your tickets.

For those who still feel unsafe to attend the theatre in person, we are working on providing access, on a limited basis, to a streaming version of the productions, at no additional cost. More information will be made available as options further develop.
If I Request A Refund For Your Next Season, Will I Lose My Seats?
We know that many of our subscribers value their seats. You can always request a refund at any time. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee we will be able to save your seats if you do.

However, please understand that the health and survival of our organization is very much dependent on the support of our community. Your subscriptions account for a large percentage of our income. We encourage you to renew to not only retain your current seats, but to help us ensure all of our seats will be available for future seasons.

We truly appreciate your investment in Capital Stage by subscribing to our next season Hope Defiant. With your support, we will be ready when the time comes.
Thank you so much for your patience and all your support. We are working hard to get back to our stage when we can all be safe together.
Sincerely,

Michael Stevenson
Producing Artistic Director
