Marilyn Scudder Scholar Reflections
The Marilyn Scudder Memorial Scholarship Impacts a Student at
Kodaikanal International School
Dev Selarka looks back on the year
I am so very grateful to the donors that have given me the opportunity to be the recipient of the Marilyn Scudder Memorial Scholarship. It is a huge privilege for me and I would not still be in this amazing school if it weren’t for your generosity.

I could say that I have achieved quite a lot this semester. Grade 10 has been a big learning year. The thing that I’m most proud of is co-hosting a squash tournament with a Senior, and I also partook in the tournament. Given that I’m not that into sports, this was a serious achievement for me as it marked the beginning of my attempts to actually try to play sports.

Moreover, I also got shortlisted for the NHS (National Honor Society) list for the academic year 2016-17, thanks to this scholarship. Since one of the pillars of NHS is scholarship, the Marilyn Scudder Memorial Scholarship ensured a place for me in one of the most prestigious groups that one can get into.

This scholarship has helped me a lot as it has opened up new opportunities including leading SoEEx (Social and Environmental Experience) trips to orphanages, continuing building the squash team, and providing me the motivation to  excel in academics. For this I am very thankful. Again, thank you donors for letting me prove myself so that I can achieve more in my life.
