Good afternoon, Parents/Guardians:

How exciting it was to welcome back our students to our classrooms this week! Nothing can energize someone more than seeing students interacting with one another and our staff, socially distant of course. It was especially nice to see the students in the new high school spaces this week. Our team of ThenDesign Architecture (TDA) and Hammond Construction have done an amazing job of giving us a state of the art facility! I know our students and staff will utilize these spaces to the fullest and I can’t wait until next year when both the renovations of the high school are completed and the new elementary school opens up!

Just a reminder that next week will continue in the blended learning phase for those students who have chosen to be part of the traditional learning option. 

  • Monday, September 28 will be a remote learning day of the entire District.
  • Tuesday, September 29 and Thursday, October 1: All students with the last names A - K report to school.
  • Wednesday, September 30 and Friday, October 2: All students with the last names L-Z report to school.

This will be the schedule we will maintain in the weeks to come unless there is a change in the Cuyahoga County level designation by the governor.

In regards to switching students from either the Traditional Learning Option or the At Home Remote Learning Option to the other model, we will not be able to accommodate any further changes at this time. When we sent out our plan information prior to the start of the school year and asked parents to commit to one option or the other, we used that information to staff our in-person classrooms and online learning classrooms appropriately. In addition, we used that information to develop class lists that would allow us to maintain proper social distancing in the classes and also a manageable class size for our remote teachers to work effectively with the students. We understand that situations can change, and while we wanted to offer as much flexibility as possible for parents, at this time it is necessary for children to remain in the option that has been chosen. This is due to staffing requirements and class size issues in both the Traditional Learning Option and the At Home Remote Learning Option. Around the beginning of the second quarter, we will ask our parents to determine what delivery option they will choose to begin the second semester.
