Update from Rep. Briscoe Cain
Chairman of the Texas House Committee on Elections
Last week on our "Fight for Election Integrity" weekly meeting we had Representative Briscoe Cain, the chairman of the Texas House Committee on Elections. With such an important focus on election integrity this session you can imagine how much activity is taking place in this committee under Rep. Cain's leadership. This week's call to action was a very informative update on the legislature's efforts to ensure election integrity. Rep. Cain answered many questions about our current state of affairs and their work to improve our election laws. If you missed it, you can view the full meeting via the link below!
Our democracy relies on the sanctity of the vote. Without confidence in the integrity of our elections, people will lack faith in our elected government. This reform effort now underway, based on the lessons we learned from previous elections, is so very important. And YOU are a critical part of this effort. I am working to provide tools and information to empower everyday Texans to play their role in this process. We hope you find these Call to Actions informative and most importantly that the tools we provide are useful to you as you engage with your legislators.

I am excited to announce this Friday's weekly meeting will feature David Bossie. David is president of Citizens United, the 2016 deputy campaign manager for Donald Trump for President and the former chief investigator for the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Government Reform and Oversight during the Clinton administration. Bossie is an active Fox News contributor and has a recent opinion article on the Trump impeachment trial. Read that here!

We will be discussing the "For the People Act," the Democrats' sweeping election and voting overhaul. This legislation would touch on everything from voter registration, voting, campaign finance to redistricting. As you might imagine it is a liberal wish list and there is a lot to unpack. Hope you can join us!

P.S. I am also excited to announce I have been appointed chair of the Republican National Committees Grassroots Advocacy Committee. This is an exciting opportunity and a proud honor. Stay tuned for more updates!
