The Springwood School Class of 2023

Dear Springwood International Parents,

It was a bittersweet last week, full of end-of-school and graduation activities! Having the opportunity to be involved in the lives of our international students this year has been a wonderful experience, but at the same time, saying goodbye to so many of these great students is quite hard.

We congratulate the twelve 2023 Springwood International graduates from Spain, South Korea and Vietnam. I know that they will achieve great things! We say farewell to students from Germany, France, and Spain who were only here for a one-year study abroad experience. And we look forward to welcoming back our returning students from Brazil, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Spain, South Korea, and Vietnam in August along with our new students.

As everyone goes separate ways, we wish them Godspeed, happiness, and success! Hope you have an enjoyable summer with your children!

Warm regards,

Ann Hixon

Graduation

Congratulations to the class of 2023! As part of a longstanding tradition, Springwood School graduation was held on Saturday, May 20 on the football field, celebrating the 39 students in the senior class of 2023. The senior class collectively earned $1,848,100 in scholarship offers for the 2023-2024 school year. Of the 39 graduates, 12 were Springwood international students. These students have plans to attend various universities across the United States next year, such as Ohio State University, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and the University of Arizona, to name a few. We wish our graduates well and will miss them next year!

The Senior Class of 2023

Baccalaureate

Baccalaureate is a traditional celebratory church service held the night before graduation to honor the seniors in a more intimate setting. This year, students and their families were led in a time of music and heard some encouraging words from English teacher Susan Oswalt at nearby Valley Baptist Church.

The Progressive Dinner

The Progressive Dinner is a senior class tradition where students travel from house to house enjoying fellowship and good food. This year, the Progressive Dinner took place at three different homes on beautiful Lake Harding. Seniors traveled by boat to each location.

Athletic Signings

Congratulations to two Springwood International students on their decision to play college soccer! Jake Han from South Korea has signed with the University of Alabama at Birmingham and Eric Jeong from South Korea signed with the University of West Alabama.
