Condo conversions to benefit from warranty coverage
For years now, transforming non-residential buildings into residential condominiums has fulfilled two very important objectives - while it has helped to preserve precious elements of our architectural past, it has also provided much needed living space for our growing towns and cities.
It's the proverbial win-win situation. But there's another consideration that has been missing from the condominium conversion equation. Consumer protection.
The good news is that this will soon change.

Seeking Your Input on Tarion's freehold Construction Performance Guidelines (CPG)
Tarion launched a review of the freehold Construction Performance Guidelines (CPG) this summer. We intend this review to be a continuous process. This means that we will review certain items of the CPG, incorporate any updates, then move on to review other items. This will create a living document that will be modified, as needed, to reflect building practices
and requirements. Your feedback is vital to the success of this review process.
We want to hear from you on how to update and improve the CPG. We will be accepting general feedback until January 10, 2018. Tarion is committed to updating the CPG regularly, therefore any submissions received after January 10, 2018 will be considered during future review cycles.
