COVID-19 Updates (4/2)

Last week, we announced a special Skip-a-Pay period for April payments. There is still time to take advantage of that. In addition, if you would like to defer your payment another 60 days, contact the office.
Marietta - 770-565-3794
Lakeland - 863-687-2136

We are getting a lot of calls about the CARES ACT, passed by Congress on March 27. We are still awaiting guidance from the government on how these loans work, and whether we are authorized to administer the loans. Stay tuned!

The Annual Meeting, scheduled for April 28, has been postponed until further notice. We will communicate a new date when we know it.

As usual during this time, there is a lot of information below, and things change rapidly. I've tried to keep new info in red, but if you haven't checked it out in awhile, please read the whole thing. We appreciate our members and hope to help out as best as we can.

Special Skip-a-Pay for our members
woman_hand_butterflies.jpg

UMC FCU is providing the following measures to help our members:
-All April Visa payments will be deferred. Members will not have a payment due in April -
Previously, we advertised this as an April promotion, then announced on the word of our payment processor that we couldn't do that until May. Now, April payments have been deferred as originally claimed. Sorry for the confusion!

-We are adding a special no-fee Skip-a-Pay
for non-real estate loans. Click here for a form, and skip your March or April payment on a UMC FCU loan. (Unfortunately, this does not apply to real estate loans)
If you have already skipped your payment and would like to apply it for another 60 days, please contact the office.

Partial closing of branch lobbies

If you find you have diminished access to money, and don't have a checking account, this is a good time to open a checking account and order a debit card. With a Visa debit card, you can access cash through the Co-op Network and at Publix Presto machines. Contact one of our offices for details.

Due to the current situation, to prevent social contact and help slow the spread of Coronavirus COVID-19, United Methodist Connectional FCU is temporarily converting its branches to partial access.  We will be closing our lobby at both branches effective March 23, 2020 until further notice. Our Member Services Representatives are still available to assist you during normal business hours Monday thru Wednesday and Friday 8:30am - 4:00pm and Thursdays 10:00am - 4:00pm at 770-565-3794.

If you need to meet in person, please call for an appointment .
If one of the following applies, please do not request an appointment.
  • Traveled within the last 45 days to South Korea, Japan, China, Iran, Europe, United Kingdom, or Ireland
  • Have been in close contact with anyone who has traveled within the last 45 days to one of the countries listed above
  • Had close contact with or cared for someone diagnosed with COVID-19 within the last 14 days
  • Have expierenced any cold or flu-like symptoms in the last 14 days (including fever, cough, sore throat, respiratory illness, difficulty breathing)
We want you to know that we are here for you in these difficult and uncertain times.   As we continue to weather this period of social isolation, your staff is committed to keeping UMC FCU a safe, secure place for your finances. Remember the many other ways of accessing credit union services:
  • Online Banking
  • ATM network, free at Publix Presto machines and more
  • Night deposit box at the Marietta branch
  • Shared branches (Note: many shared branch locations are suspending shared branch capabilities to limit traffic. If you are experiencing difficulties, please contact the credit union office)
  • Mobile depositing through Sprig
  • Transfer money to friends using PopMoney (accessed through online banking)
  • Shop for a new vehicle using the Auto Mall from Auto Assistance
  • Apply for a loan and get approved online

Help keep churches thriving!

Churches and ministries play a vital role in keeping people connected and protected during this time. If you have online banking through UMC FCU you can continue your regular donations using Bill Pay. Here's how:
  • From your online banking page, click Bill Pay on the left hand side - make sure you allow pop-ups
  • When the new screen opens, make sure you're on "Payment Center," then click the button for "Add a New Company or Person"
  • Search the name of the church or ministry. The church probably won't be found in the database, but then it will give you an option to enter the information manually
  • Once you have set up the church information, you can direct one-time or recurring payments that will be delivered by check to the church
Thank you for supporting the UM community during this time.
