Update from YTC President Joe Curto
As you know YTC is in lockdown, as almost all of you are as well. We will continue listening to our health experts in providing guidance with what’s next & what potentially that may look like.
I can’t thank our YTC community enough for your patience, understanding and support in this unprecedented time. The messages have been heartwarming and at times, I’ll admit, a few tears have been dropped. THANK YOU!
Though the courts are closed YTC is busy working remotely. We’ve always been about our staff and during this lockdown every staff member will be paid their normal wages from cleaning people up to Directors. It’s the right thing to do. We’ve started laying out multiple contingency plans regarding makeups, credits and anything else you can imagine in a facility like ours. When the time is right and there’s some element of clarity in the world, I will share those in detail and with full honesty as is our norm.
During this period we’re working hard in various ways. Yesterday all the pro’s are taking a webinar with Net Generation on coaching Generation Z, tennis tips and methods to stay engaged with tennis will be posted, Jr levels are being re-evaluated, and each of us is asking ourselves how can we do better? Don’t be surprised if your coach reaches out to you and just wants to know “are you ok and is there anything I can do to help?“ We’re also going to share some personal ways each of us is trying to stay sane with the hope, just possibly, we can put a smile on your face in this awful time.
We are going to get through this, but we must be diligent, listen to the experts and be compassionate to those all around us. It’s the YTC Way!
