James Kitchin
Office of the County Executive
Director, CECS
County Executive Steuart Pittman issued the following statement regarding the County Council’s passage of the General Development Plan, Plan 2040:

“Over the past two years, Anne Arundel County residents came together to create a community-driven vision for the future of our county. Tonight, we took a big step toward making that shared vision a reality.

Residents wanted a plan that protects our natural resources. Residents wanted a plan that improves our infrastructure. Residents wanted a plan that preserves and enhances existing and established neighborhoods."

County Executive's Message
As we continue our efforts to ensure all Anne Arundel County residents who want the vaccine can get one, we are slowly shifting our focus from larger clinics to adding more community-based and targeted clinics. Currently, only 31% of our county’s youth ages 16 and 17 have received their first dose and with young people representing a growing number of new cases, we want to remove as many barriers as possible.
