An Update from the Office of Community Engagement and Constituent Services (CECS)
Dear Community Leaders and Members of Anne Arundel County,

Happy  #ThankYouThursday ! County Executive Pittman kicked it off with a thank you to our  Anne Arundel County Public Schools (AACPS)  teachers! Thank you to our educators, and to the entire school system, for working so hard to continue teaching and learning during this challenging time. See the Facebook Post HERE .

Now, it's your turn! Go to the County Executive's Facebook page and leave a comment on his #ThankYouThursday post with a story, photo, or video thanking someone in your life. The comment with the most "likes" by midnight tonight will win a free takeout meal from the Anne Arundel restaurant of your choice - up to $75 value (courtesy of our friends  Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation ). It is the County Executive's hope that these stories will help bring us together during this challenging time.

If you missed the County Executive's virtual town hall last Saturday you can watch it here . At minute 32:01 the Health Officer, Dr. Nilesh Kalyanaraman, shows you how to make a mask using a coffee filter and a bandana that will help protect you and others from COVID-19. Be sure to check it out! The County Executive and the Health Officer will be joined by both the Fire and Police Chiefs for his weekly town hall this Saturday. See below for more details.

We are very excited to announce the launch of OpenArundel , which gives residents and researches access to powerful information so they can explore county programs, initiatives, and demographics. This is the fulfillment of a promise County Executive Pittman made repeatedly during his campaign. Please take the time to watch the virtual ribbon cutting (included below) and then explore this powerful new tool for yourself.

While most of county government is closed tomorrow, Friday April 10th, the COVID-19 Health Line will still be open to answer your questions. That number is 410-222-7256. Also, be sure to check the county website for a list of food banks that will remain open over the holiday weekend.

Sincerely,

James Kitchin
