The Anne Arundel Watershed Stewards Academy has two upcoming engagement opportunities for county residents to take action for clean water and sustainable landscapes in their communities. Learn more about them below.

Master Watershed Stewards serve Anne Arundel County communities by installing landscape projects that reduce pollution and organizing campaigns to encourage habits that make a difference. Collectively, these community-based actions reduce pollution at its source and improve the health of the entire Chesapeake Bay. Learn more.

Thanks to our Replant Anne Arundel partners, WSA’s Groves of Gratitude initiative provides county residents* with single native trees and pre-designed, native tree bundles to plant on their properties this fall. Learn more.

The Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation (AAEDC) is still taking applications from center and at home childcare providers to request grants of up to $50,000 to cover operating expenses. Providers that have experienced a drop in enrollment can use the grants to cover expenses such as rent, payroll and utilities, and costs associated with the purchase of personal protective equipment, ensuring sanitary physical spaces and implementing online communications and learning. The amount of the grant will be determined by the size of the business and the availability of funding. AAEDC will give priority consideration to providers that serve low-income communities, families residing in childcare desert communities or children with special needs such as infant and toddler, Head Start, 504 plans and Individualized Education Program plans (IEP).

Residents can view a calendar of upcoming community meetings in their area, review site plans and other documents, attend virtual meetings, watch previously recorded meetings, and provide public comments directly to the Office of Planning and Zoning - all through the new Community Meetings website.
