An Update from the Office of Community Engagement and Constituent Services (CECS)
Dear Community Leaders and Members of Anne Arundel County,

Join County Executive Pittman along with leaders of ACT, Anne Arundel Connecting Together to discuss how they organize to make change. ACT is a non-partisan organization of faith and community-based institutions who work together to build community power to improve the lives of Anne Arundel County families and communities.

They'll talk about their organizing model, how they operate, and where their work fits into local government. Submit your questions to pittmantownhall@aacounty.org and tune in the County Executive's Facebook tonight at 6 p.m. to join the conversation.

Guest include:
  • Rev. Ryan Sirmons, Lead Organizer of ACT Anne Arundel Connecting Together, The United Church of Christ of Annapolis
  • Rev. Dr. Carletta Allen, Asbury United Methodist Church, Annapolis
  • Bishop Abraham Shanklin, New Life Fellowship International Ministries
  • Julie Anne Carlson, First Presbyterian Church of Annapolis See Less

Best,

James Kitchin

Parole Mobility Study Recommendations
Public Comment Period
The Office of Transportation has performed a Mobility Study of the Parole area in support of the Office of Planning and Zoning’s efforts to update the Parole Urban Design Concept Plan (PUDCP), the master plan for the Parole Growth Management Area (PGMA). The draft Vision of the PUDCP update states that Parole will be a community that is redeveloped and revitalized to serve the region as an economic and transportation hub, absorbing much of the County’s growth pressure into a well-designed urban place, while respecting and enhancing the character of its less urban surroundings.

The purpose of the study is to identify necessary short-term and long-term improvements to meet the Parole Town Center’s future multi-modal mobility needs and provide a connected transportation network supporting all users of the right-of-way including pedestrians, bicyclists, transit riders, and motorists.

The recommended improvements are summarized in a PowerPoint presentation and are detailed more specifically on supporting spreadsheets and maps, all of which are available for public review and comment from November 6, 2020 to December 4, 2020.

There will be a LIVE VIRTUAL Presentation and Q&A Webinar on November 19 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. Use the link below for more information, including how to register.
