An Update from the Office of Community Engagement and Constituent Services (CECS)
Dear Community Leaders and Members of Anne Arundel County,

Tonight, you can get a preview of the draft General Development Plan that will be released for public comment soon and have your land use questions answered. Have a question about those workforce housing or agrotourism bills you've heard about? Concerned about overdevelopment? Submit your questions to pittmantownhall@aacounty.org and tune in on County Executive Steuart Pittman's Facebook tonight at 6 p.m.

County Executive Pittman will be joined by our new Deputy CAO for Land Use, Lori Rhodes, and leaders from our Office of Planning & Zoning, to answer your questions, and share our vision about the future of land use in our county.

We have a lot at stake in the 2020 election, and that includes the local level!

In Anne Arundel County, there are 7 charter amendments on the ballot that address government efficiency, accountability, and transparency. County Executive Pittman supported all 7 before the County Council, and each one passed with bipartisan votes. Now, the outcomes depend on your vote.

Take a look at the questions you'll be voting on, and visit aacounty.org/vote to request your ballot now!
Deale Community Park
County Executive Pittman joined Anne Arundel County Department of Recreation and Parks to unveil the sign for the future Deale Community Park!

The concept of using this land as a community meeting place was first brought up in the Deale/Shady Side small area plan years ago, and was ignored by previous administrations.

When County Executive Pittman held his first District 7 Budget Town Hall in 2019, community members brought up the idea again. Our team looked into it, saw that it was a community need that had been ignored, and decided to act. And now, we are proud to say this land is yours.
Anne Arundel County Preparedness Month:
Economic Impact of Disasters
Americans at all income levels have experienced the challenges of rebuilding their lives after a disaster or other emergencies and Anne Arundel County is no exception. During these stressful times, it is critical to have personal, financial, insurance, medical and additional essential records stored in a safe place. In the event of unexpected expenses that may result from a disaster, it is essential to have a financial backup plan. By starting this process now, it can alleviate additional hardships and start the recovery process quickly and efficiently.

On October 1, the newly relaunched Healthy Anne Arundel Coalition (HAAC) will host their first community meeting. HAAC serves as a community health network and forum for collaboration to advance the health and well-being of Anne Arundel County. This community-powered coalition will represent community organizations, health care providers, and stakeholders in community health.
