County Executive Pittman Signs Executive Order #38
County Executive Steuart Pittman signed Executive Order #38, effective at 5:00 p.m. on November 20. The executive order clarifies and restates existing provisions already in effect, and incorporates Governor Larry Hogan’s Executive Order Number 20-11-17-01

Anne Arundel County Urges Residents to Prevent Covid-19 Spread Over Thanksgiving
County Executive Steuart Pittman and Health Officer Dr. Nilesh Kalyanaraman are reminding residents to not let their guard down when it comes to protecting themselves against COVID-19. With surging COVID rates, County officials are encouraging residents to proceed with extreme caution when celebrating with family during holiday celebrations. 

County Executive Pittman Promotes Greater Public Participation on Development Projects
In response to impediments to community input on developments affecting residential neighborhoods, the Office of Planning and Zoning authorized a series of changes effective immediately that prohibit meetings on county holidays, stagger the start times of meetings in the same Councilmanic districts, and restricts the number of meetings in the same district to two. These changes will make it easier for residents to review project plans and ask questions.  

New Efforts to Reduce Sediment Pollution from Construction Sites
County Executive Steuart Pittman announced new guidance aimed at reducing sediment pollution from construction sites. The new guidance, released by the County’s Department of Inspections and Permits, calls for more sediment and erosion controls on construction sites in advance of wet weather, and increased enforcement of all sites near the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries.

The Anne Arundel Public Library is offering chromebooks and wifi at a time when people without internet access need it the most.

Use the Chromebook and wifi hotspot to:

  • Connect the Chromebook to the internet using the hotspot
  • Use the hotspot to put up to 10 wifi enabled devices online simultaneously
  • Access or save files on a USB drive
  • Access or save files to your Google, Microsoft, iCloud or other online account. (Instructions below)
  • Upload documents that you wish to print at the library
  • Attend or participate in Online Events
