Anne Arundel County began COVID-19 vaccinations for seniors 75+ on January 19. However, people in any phase can pre-register to be alerted when their phase is ready for COVID-19 vaccinations in Anne Arundel County by visiting aacounty.org/covidvax.

Pre-registration helps to organize requests according to phases, priority groups, and vaccine availability. Individuals and workgroups will be emailed actual vaccination appointment times and clinic locations once there is vaccine rollout for their specific phase and group. Click here for more information on COVID vaccines.

County residents are encouraged to take a moment of silence today at 5:35 p.m. to honor those who have lost their lives to coronavirus. The Arundel Center will be lit overnight as part of the commemoration. 

After witnessing the events at the United States Capitol, it brought to bear fear about the potential for violent unlawful actions in our community. News reports are cautioning about insurrection by extremist groups and are reporting uncorroborated rumors and information. While there may be additional demonstrations as we approach next week’s Presidential Inauguration, we have no specific threat indicators in Anne Arundel County. We continue to work very closely with our partners in the FBI, Maryland State Police, Annapolis Police, as well as law enforcement agencies throughout the Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia areas. Intelligence is being openly shared amongst the agencies throughout our well established communication networks.
